Will I need an ETIAS or a Schengen Visa?
Sweden is part of both the EU and the Schengen Zone. This means that an ETIAS visa and a Schengen visa will both be sufficient for getting the holder into the country. However, you should consider the rest of your journey or any likely future journeys when applying. A Schengen visa will only allow you to visit one country on your journey (Sweden). ETIAS will allow you to visit an unlimited amount of EU countries within a 3 year period. However, remember to check if you are eligible for both visas prior to starting an application.
Why should I visit Sweden
If you enjoy nature then Sweden is a great place to go. Sweden has an abundance of islands off its coast, national parks and mountains for hiking or winter sports. In the north of the country, the Northern Lights can be seen during winter and if you go as far as the Arctic Circle, it is even possible to experience daylight at midnight.
Sweden can also meet the needs of those looking for a city break. Both Stockholm and Gothenburg have quirky and scenic old towns to explore, as well as palaces and cathedrals.
