Will I need an ETIAS or a Schengen Visa?
Cyprus is a fully fledged member of the EU, meaning an ETIAS visa will soon be a requirement for non-EU citizens. However, Cyprus is not part of the Schengen zone and although it intends to join, there is no set date. This means a Schengen visa will not grant you entry to Cyprus.
This means that currently, ETIAS would be the only method of visiting the nation.
An ETIAS visa will also allow you to visit any other EU nation within the validity of the visa. The duration of this is usually 3 months but can be shorter if the holders passport expires prior to that.
Before starting your application, you should ensure you are eligible to apply for an ETIAS visa and to visit Cyprus.
Why should I visit Cyprus
The small island of Cyprus isn’t lacking in reasons to visit. The year round hot climate ensures that for most of the year, people can enjoy the Mediterranean beaches and coastline.
However, beaches and climate aren’t the only attractions to this beautiful island. Cyprus also boasts an interesting cultural collision between Greece and Turkey. The country draws architecture, food, drink and ambience from both Greece and Turkey, giving it a unique vibe and incredible range of culture. And if sun isn’t your thing, there are even mountains for winter sports.
